    Jackie is a Nevada local who grew up in Gardnerville participating in FFA and enjoying hiking, fishing and camping. She attended Washington State University for both a degree in Animal Sciences and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  She has practiced in Nevada since that time and  has a passion for veterinary medicine and surgery. She especially enjoys promoting wellness for pets of all ages, performing soft tissue surgery and enhancing the human-animal-bond. She goes through life’s adventures with her husband Jake and their dogs (Jack the German Shepherd, Ash the Labrador and Nubz the Heinz 57 Mix).

    Jennifer Danielson

    Jennifer was born in Nevada and grew up in Hawaii and Nevada.  She received her Animal Science degree from the University of Reno, Nevada and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University.  She has practiced veterinary medicine in Nevada since then. You might recognize her maiden name, Schefcik, from when she practiced for 2 years here at Dayton Valley Veterinary Hospital right out of vet school.  Her special interests in veterinary medicine are preventative medicine, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.  Jennifer is married to her husband Travis and they have 2 spunky boys named Arthur and James.  To complete the family, there is a cat named Kami, a black lab named Kona, a border collie named Jack and a horse named Vision.

    Mary Minor - Retired

    Congratulations to Dr. Minor on her retirement!  We have deep appreciation for all that she's done and wish her the best luck on future endeavors.

    Dr. Minor is a 5th generation Nevadan from a local cattle ranch family. She graduated from Dayton High School as a 4 sport letterman, valedictorian and senior class president. She was a Gold Star 4-H participant, completing over 100 projects. She graduated from California Baptist University, Magna Cum Lade. While attending school she played women’s intercollegiate Basketball and was team Captain. Once deciding to become a veterinarian she furthered her education by attending pre-veterinary school at the University of Nevada-Reno and then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

    She first practiced veterinary medicine in Modesto California as an associate veterinarian. In 1999, she returned to Nevada and bought her first practice in Dayton. In 2004, she designed and built the new hospital at the current location. She has a special interest in geriatric wellness and orthopedic surgery. Her focus is on preventative wellness for family companions. In 2005, she was surprised with the honor of Alumni of the Year from California Baptist University.

    Dr. Minor has always been active in supporting and mentoring the youth in the Dayton Community, including awarding scholarships. She has a passion for the Pony Express, sheep dogging and Nevada agriculture.
